Talia is a professional belly dancer based in Southampton.
She was trained in classical ballet, tap and modern from the age
of 5. She started to belly dance at the age of 18. She originally trained in Egyptian style, taking lessons and workshops with some of the worlds best dancers.

In 2004 she enrolled on the Afra Al Kahira 'ASMED' teacher training course and decided to study Turkish Oryanal. Since then she has dedicated herself to learning and Promoting Turkish style belly dance.

In 2005 Talia went to live in Turkey for 16 months where she danced and taught Turkish Oryantal. She still travels to Turkey regularly to stay up to date with current dance trends.

Talia maintains close links with her local Turkish community and is a popular performer at events in the South, from festivals to private parties. She combines the discipline of Egyptian belly dance with the energetic and powerful moves of Turkish Oryantal, creating her own unique style.

Turkish Oryantal has a very special place in her heart and she enjoys enabling others see the strong empowering dance it is. She often teaches workshops around the country, including last years Celebrating Dance in Devon. When she is not dancing Talia is busy running Little Blue Genie which she co-owns.
